Thanksgiving IS The Answer!

I received a Thanksgiving message that was, to me, a very profound and worthwhile message.  Some highlights follow:

The true meaning of Thanksgiving, you have to agree, it is a pretty laid back holiday, not a lot going on .....no cards are exchanged, no presents exchanged, no partying....

Thanksgiving celebrates whats important, food, family and friends and taking the time to enjoy it, and in most cases with a 4 day holiday weekend.  Thanksgiving encourages us - in its characteristically quiet and understated way - to take note of the things in our lives that are positive, which we are thankful for.

We celebrate Thanksgiving once a year.  If it's a good idea to have Thanksgiving once a year, why not
have it once a week?

How about consistently carving out one day each week where you avoid the "busyness" of life and sit back to enjoy a good meal and revel in the pleasure of spending time with people you love the most?

Is there anyone so busy that they can't arrange at least one day per month for Thanksgiving? Would it not be wonderful to have Thanksgiving each week?  Of course the meal might have to change a bit....I heard that the average Thanksgiving dinner is 3000 calories.

Happy Thanksgiving Day!

Think how amazing if we could all live with a mindset of thankfulness EVERY DAY.

Happy Thanksgiving to you!

I would be so much heavier than I am if we had Thanksgiving once a week! I love stuffing!

In everything give thanks...  Once a year, once a month, once a week, once a day.  Thanks for this thoughtful post!

Nice post. We had our dinner last night and I am sure I had a fair share of 3000 calories! I am all for the weekly Thanksgiving idea, but I can't handle those calories every week! LOL

Hi Dick,
I dare say, the world would be a different place if everyone would do this.  But, my waistline cannot handle all that food more than once per year.  I am still stuffed from last night!

I'm feeling it, Richard. I adopted the mantra in 1999 when I walked away from Wall Street. I still get busy; I'm trying hard to avoid stupid, rushed busy. Great post. Enjoyed it. A lot of wisdom there.

Eric, you are so right, and we can keep praying!

Ginger & Roger, I know how you feel, we appreciate those same sights....remember winter in NY?

Hi Todd, hope you had a great Thanksgiving!

Mike, thanks this was our blessing before dinner

Hi Ed, I have given up dieting until 1/1/08...Thanks

Cynthia, hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving!  Knowing how close you are to the military lifestyle, I presume it really has a special meaning to you.

Andrew, thanks, my friend, hope you have a great Thanksgiving!

PLEASE tell me that Thanksgiving is NOT about food.  I am thankful for a lot of things in life and that has been my focus.
