Day 23: Cape Fear Serpentarium: Well this is one place, not for the faint of heart. This is a one of a kind experience to see rare and dangerous reptiles. There snakes, large lizards and more...over 100 species There are also some parrots for those who don't want to spend much time with the snakes.
This is a very education experience and something you will want to visit on your Wilmington journey. They have a feeding show and you can experience touching or holding a real live snake. Schools have taken a trip here for a field trip, and they even hold birthday parties here... Whoa who would have thought???? Check out their web site for all the scoop http://www.capefearserpentarium.com/ This is one interesting thing to do in Wilmington. Saturdays and Sundays seem to be the recommended day to see this exhibit. They do not take credit cards, so you will need cash.

Dick & Sandy ~ While it may be a exciting adventure to Cape Fear Sprpentarium for some people, I just couldn't go in there with all those snakes. I am so afraind of them it even makes my feet go up on the couch when I see them on TV and have to look away. I would be in the Parrot section talking to the birds...
Dick and Sandy,
Serpentarium would not be my first choice of places to visit. I'd leave it to others while going to visit a rose garden, for example.
you are right - some love them, some don't.... the kids love touching the snakes... ----adults on the otherhand ...they do hang out with the parrots.....day 23 is going up early and you'll be more at ease!!
ooooops.........I mean day 24........thinking about those snakes made me lose my mind for a moment!!
