Day 7: 
Explore one of the nicest NC Aquariums at Fort Fisher. http://www.ncaquariums.com/fort-fisher Fort Fisher is just south of Kure Beach, NC. There are so many wonderful things to explore. The aquarium can be rented out for various functions. It is a relaxing time for the whole family and there are lots of hands on experiences, you can watch the divers and have a conversation with them, or just explore. 
Catch a snack outside if there is time and don't forget to visit the gift shop. You will want to check out the programs offered for outdoor exploration. http://www.ncaquariums.com/fort-fisher/programs/outdoor-exploration We took the surf fishing class with our family. What an entertaining time. In class, the instructor shows you how to tie your hook on the line and you practice knot tying, you learn how to use the casting net to catch your own bait and you actually have real, live hands-on practice on the beach. You must, however, promise, to return your catch to the sea. 
I think we are due for a refresher course though. So far, when Sandy fishes on the beach or off the pier she only seems to catch Dick's line. Sandy was, however, the star of the class with the fishing line. Her son Greg was so impressed, he bought her a casting net for one of her birthday's......Time to practice again, take the grandchildren and maybe catch something worthwhile.....like DINNER!!.
