Day 6: South Facing Beaches in the Cape Fear Region - Brunswick, NC.....http://www.ncbeaches.com/BrunswickBeaches/

We all know most beaches face east or west....we are somewhat different in the Greater Wilmington and Cape Fear Region. Check out the webcam at Sunset Beach to see the most updated views and seashells found. http://www.sunsetbeachncwebcam.com/
We are blessed with south facing beaches in Brunswick County. So what's the big deal? You can sit on the beach, look over your left shoulder and see the sunrise. Later on in the day in the same spot, look to the right and watch our beautiful sunsets....breathtaking from both angles....What else you say? Shells!!!!!! I must say....the south facing beaches have the best shelling experience. Every time sandy's sister spends time at her vacation home in Shallotte, she finds conch shells, sand dollars, sharks teeth. Each visit is an experience. If you put your ear up to the shell, you hear the ocean....it's true. There was a woman she chatted with during Easter who had 7 conch shells lined up. She was taking them home to her grandchildren....you must be brave, look for the dips in the ocean floor, but you don't have to go out far, but you must be willing to dive in and come up with all those TREASURE's.
Signing off from Wilmington NC,
Sandy Beals

I love the sand dollars. Good post. I would like to invite you to my group, 365 Things to do in Your Town, where we share ideas on 365 Things to do: http://activerain.com/groups/365ThingsToDo
Sandy - Barrie and I recently visited Hilton head where we collected a few sanddollars for our grand kids ..... I was intrigued by your title are you posting 1 a day all year long.
Thanks for the invite Bob. I will check out your group. An yes Kathy - we
will be posting daily except for 1 week in May when Dick scoots me away for
a cruise for my 60th birthday. In the past 14 years we have taken many
cruises and the mantra is no cell phone, no computer....We have lived up to
that promise for 14 years.
