Day 69: This day brings us all to think about supporting a cause....and thinking about others.   While roaming around Wilmington on Monday August 23rd, you may need a refreshing drink....Lemonade is always a favorite.   From 3 to 5:30pm at 210 Brookshire Lane, 4 children will be operating a lemonade stand to raise money to fight Rett Syndrome.  (www.rettsyndrome.org).  This is a developmental disorder most often seen in girls.  It is caused by a genetic mutation.   Let's help these little entrepreneurs in helping them to raise money for the foundation.    Perhaps, they will be out there every year, so be sure to include them in your list of things to do in Wilmington.   It is for a good cause. Hope to see you there.....and if you don't want the lemonade, just stop in to make a donation.  If you need more information call 910-262-4365.  Thanks for your support!!!

Day 52: The Old Wilmington City Market  is a hidden gem on the Riverfront at 119 S. Water Street, Wilmington , NC. http://www.facebook.com/pages/Wilmington-NC/The-Old-Wilmington-City-Market/376552285952

The historic building was built in 1879 and encompasses a city block. It was originally a vegetable market, but is now a shopping haven.   You name it they have it and they showcase local artists and local crafts. Pick up some flowers, a special gift from one of the boutiques, or just watch the people....now that's fun....
