Day 68 Fort Fisher Recreation Center - located at 1000 Loggerhead Road, Kure Beach, NC 28449.
The season will soon be winding down so don't forget to visit the ocean shore and this recreation area....Lots to do, swim, fish, 4 wheel it, search the beach for t reassures or simply sit back and enjoy the wildlife around you. This is one of the most beautiful beaches in the area and there is a lotsto do.

Day 40 Fort Fisher Second Saturdays - We have already visited the Fort Fisher Civil War Museum in our journey of 365 Things to Do in Wilmington and the Cape Fear Region....but of note is that every second Saturday you can explore historical Fort Fisher's historical landscape. From 10-4 on each second Saturday and the next one Saturday June 12, 2010-----you can visit the area and experience period music, educational talks and demonstrations, participate in costume guided tour and more. Demonstrators and vendors will exhibit and sell their seascapes and landscapes .....you can see into the past history of the area and watch demonstrations by North State Rifles...This initiative is part of NC's Second Saturdays which is intended to bring people out to the historic sites in NC and get people excited about local art....
