Turkey Trot Update

Actual tukeys did not run in the second annual Wilmington Turkey Trot, they probably would have if given the chance. Over 350 people gathered on a cold (44 degrees) Thanksgiving morning to raise money for the local Habitat for Humanity and run the "Wrightsville Beach 2.4 mile loop"

Everybody had a wonderful time, despite the cooler weather, it is a great way to get the holiday started off right, and a for a good cause. The event was sponsered by Dick & Sandy Beals of Realty Executives, with a host of sponsers donating drinks, fruit, donuts, and lots of good will. The final tally of the amount raised looks to exceed $5000, but the turnout for the event was more than encouraging, as well as being a novel way to celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday.

Sponsers donated prizes for the top 5 finishers, and there was random drawings for 5 at large prizes.  We are looking forward to having the third annual Turkey Trot in 2007, and more info may be found at the web site at www.WilmingtonTurkeyTrot.com

Turkey Trot

The second annual Turkey Trot in Wilmington, NC will be held on Thanksgiving morning (11/23) at the Wrightsville Park.  The 2.4 mile race and the 1 mile fun walk benefits the local Habitat for Humanity, and is organized  by Realty Executives of Wilmington, along with sponsership from many local merchants.  This year the weather may not cooperate, as there is a good chance of rain and cool temps.  That will not deter the 500 expected runners, walkers, and thier families from having a great time.  For more info and pictures, media press, and registration forms go to www.WilmingtonTurkeyTrot.com
